Xi’an Physical Education University was established in 1954, which lies on the west of XiaoYan Pagoda in Xi'an city. The university is founded under the cooperation of the State General Administration of Sport and the Sports Bureau of Shaanxi Province, which is the only academic university for Physical education in northwestern China as well. The university covers an area of 696 mu, with 7148 registered students, total staff of 750 among which there are over 494 full-time teachers and 157 of them are entitled of professor or associate professor. Having been established for more than 50 years, the university has trained thousands of professional students for P.E., most of which have become backbones in the related fields of P.E. and even other lines.
