Yang-En University is situated at the maritime starting point of the Chinese Silk Road, in the Northern outskirts of the historic cultural city of Quanzhou. It boasts a peaceful environment, being quiet and tastefully laid out and is unique for its greenery and fresh air. The University has introduced a bilingual teaching system and pays great attention to teaching the students the advanced knowledge of their majors and the best business theory from abroad. Half of the courses are lectured in English. At the beginning of the third year of study, one main subject of the major is lectured in English by the international academic staff, using original English textbooks from abroad. All the students in the first year of their studies should pass the Grade One of the Provincial Computer Test (PCT) and master the knowledge and techniques of the automation of office work. The third-year and the fourth-year students must learn and know how to deal with computer programming, how to search for information data, and how to deal with the application of software related to their majors. In consideration of the actual applications of CET 4 and 6 and the provincial computer test, Yang-En University has made reformation for English Band Test. Yang-En University’s Practical English Test, Band 6 is conducted instead of CET 6. Good results from these changes has caused the University to further reform the Band test of English and Computer by having YEU PET Band 4 to replace CET 4 and Yang- En University Practical Computer (YEU PC) Grade1 and 2 to replace the Provincial Computer Band 1 and 2. Students can graduate only after passing the above -mentioned University’s Band tests of English and Computer. At present nearly 50% of the teachers are full professors or associate professors.
